Microsoft Exam Fail

2022-04-05 2 min read article Alex

but what about failure?

Yesterday I went to another exam and regrettably failed it, not badly, but obviously..
..of course this didn’t make me very happy and passing on the other hand would have.

I recently had a very “good run” with my exams and got quite used to passing them, but this time clearly something was off.

If I’m honest to myself..

..I do know why it happened:

  • Not enough preparation
  • lack of hands on lab
  • still feeling a little unwell (after having catched a cold the week before..)

The result is self-doubt and you bringing not your best game, leading to a “no pass situation”.

After feeling a little bit down yesterday, I’m recapturing my spirit and reflect on my actions.

One should really not go into an exam without having worked through some labs, it is necessary to manifest the theory and learning material in your brain, without it there is already quite a gamble that you bring to the Test. Only Theory can never beat practical experience.. 😄

Why did I go anyway?

I did miss my chance to reschedule the exam on time, so it was either to forfeit the Test with a “no show”, failing it or possibly even passing it..

..if you don’t go, it’s already lost! ;)

So I went through the scorereports of all my failed Exams today and recaptured a little what I was doing and why I did fail these Tests.

Without wanting to sound to trite:

But every setback in life teaches you something and you gain experience, the same way like with the hands on lab. - Next time you will have a better feeling, because you might be calmer, as it’s the second time, or you are more familiar with the TestCenter, or just because you’ve prepared better.

Make yourself comfortable and enjoy the ride..

..in the end of the line, this is the most important thing. Have fun testing yourself and #alwayslearn

Last but not least, you have a nice amount of recommendations & infos on your scorereports as well, as to which part of the curriculum was your biggest hurdle. 😁

Cheers & Happy AlwaysLearning,
Alex
