Cloud Native Summit 2022

Good Morning to the Cloud Native Summit 2022!

😄

After a nice Intro and overview of the event schedule, directly in media res..

Session: AKS Must Know (aka AKS 101)!

A nice overview of AKS Clusters & Containers, I’ve enjoyed it a lot as it was a nice and good overview about the topic. Remember, Pods = Containers..

Session: Hybrid World with Containers: Azure-enabled Arc

It does not need a lot of introduction anymore, Azure Arc is for me “tha thing” and really the place to look into, getting the possibility to manage my on-premises Infrastructure and any other cloud environments in fact in the same manner & way like my Azure Resources is just super cool.

Session: A glimpse of what’s next: KEDA, DAPR, Azure Container App, Arc-enabled Azure application services

  • KEDA: Events here, events there - Kubernetes-based Event Driven Autoscaler.
  • DAPR: Distributed Application Runtime - Any language, any framework, anywhere
  • Azure Container Apps: Serverless Containers for microservices (Public preview)

So to my understanding here it all comes together as a developer, you follow the migration path with your legacy apps and gather the necessary insight, then develop using DAPR, deploy on Serverless Azure Container Plattform, scale the environment using KEDA and manage everything using your Azure-Arc enabled application service. Sounds neat. 😃

Session: Infuse AI into your applications: Speech, Language, Vision and OpenAI

This was somehow my favorite session, as I did find myself very well with the given example and I got astonished about what was possible. First the natural speech examples, then the car damage evaluation and in the end putting it all together. I was just thrilled about how AI and Cognitive Services really can influence and upgrade the experience & possibilities.

Session: Computer Vision & Intelligent Video Analytics

A very interesting session about image or video interpretation, AI model training and of course the infamous Azure Seeing AI App. 😄

My conclusion: It was an informative and interesting event, in which direction Application development within an Enterprise should move and some insight about the possibilities. Thank you very much Microsoft EMEA for organizing it! <3

kind regards & so long,
Alex
